H. Renee Carroll writes at the intersection of systems thinking and contemplative practice. She holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and a Master of Divinity, and she has worked for more than thirty years as a software engineer and data engineer — concurrently serving twenty of those years as the part-time pastor of a small church.
Most recently, she has worked in regulatory technology and data analytics at a Fortune 500 bank, building data systems where precision is not optional and ambiguity is not tolerated. Her theological training emphasized rigorous study of scripture in the original languages, and her pastoral work — much like a chaplain at a bedside when outcomes are unknown and frightening — taught her things engineering could not. People do not change through information alone. They change through experience, through felt shifts in what they believe is true about themselves.
Developing began the way most serious books do — not as a project, but as a necessity. After more than a decade of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that conventional medicine could not resolve, Renee discovered — first by accident, then by deliberate study — that changing what was happening inside her mind changed what was happening inside her body, with a precision her engineering background could not dismiss and her theological background could not ignore. Developing is what that study produced: a working framework for manifestation, built the way any system should be built — with identifiable components, clear relationships between them, and diagnostic capability when the output doesn't match the intent.
She is the founder of Manifesting-IT, which includes the Manifesting Tracker app and Manifesting University. She lives in Alabama with her wife, Georgia, and a barn whose roof is, at the moment, in excellent condition.
